As part of Archivorum Ark 1.0, three emerging researchers have engaged with the archives of artists Nil Yalter, Babs Haenen, and Belén Uriel to produce critical publications that introduce these newly digitized collections to a broader academic audience.
Developed through close study of archival materials, each publication examines the specific scope, contexts, and trajectories of an artist’s practice, while reflecting on the role of archives as sites of research, interpretation, and knowledge production. Combining critical essays, interviews, biographical materials, and a selection of archival photographs and documents, the publications offer multifaceted introductions to the collections and the artists they represent. Through these texts, these archives become accessible not only as historical repositories but also as active resources for contemporary artistic and scholarly inquiry.
The publications are authored by Anaïs Auger-Mathurin in dialogue with Nil Yalter, Christianna Asprouli in dialogue with Babs Haenen, and Stephen Biegel in dialogue with Belén Uriel. Together, they offer distinct perspectives on three artistic practices while contributing to the visibility, accessibility, and critical understanding of these archival materials.
