We are thrilled to announce the first 2021 Edition of TEDx Archivorum, the fourth event of a virtual series of talks where international guests will join the Global Countdown to fight climate change together!
Countdown is an attempt to bring together anyone who wants to better understand or do something about the single biggest crisis we face: climate change.
Despite the pandemic’s harmful economic and social effects, our climate crisis has not lost its urgency. It is our obligation to engage on a path that does not bring us back to "normal" ("normal" is what got us here) but that projects us towards something "better”.
The January edition of TEDx Archivorum will take place on the 14th of January from 3 pm to 6.45 pm (CET) on Zoom.

Emilio Sempris
Former Minister of Environment of the Republic of Panama. From 2002 to 2012, Emilio served as Director-General of the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean, a regional knowledge center under the auspices of UNESCO. Emilio has 20 years of experience in international cooperation, climate change, and sustainability and is the co-founder of the startup Brundtland School of Prosperity and Governance.

Sean Colombon
Sean is the Co-Founder of ECO Wheat - Straws B.V, a Dutch organisation focused on carbon dioxide reduction, by converting worthless agricultural waste into a fully natural, valuable single use item. The idea for the business came up in this young entrepreneurs’ mind while traveling in Asia with his best friend and now business partner. Together towards a plastic free planet within one generation is their goal!

Cengiz Akandil
Cengiz is a PhD candidate in Ecology at University of Zürich with research interest in ecological economics. His focus is on biodiversity loss in relation to economic growth, especially in the Arctic where the mining and oil & gas industries are dominant. He previously worked as a high frequency trader in different financial institutions. Cengiz holds a MSc in Business Administration, another MSc in Environmental Sciences and a CFA title. He is also researcher in Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences focusing on invasive species.

Richard Ladkani
As director and cinematographer, Richard Ladkani has gained international recognition for numerous award-winning films such as “Sea of Shadows", a National Geographic documentary, and the NETFLIX Original documentary "The Ivory Game”. In early 2015, Richard and his wife Anita Ladkani founded Malaika Pictures which produces films that shine a bright spotlight on the most pressing environmental and political issues of our time.
