Archivorum - La Biennale Arte 2024 in Venice

Updated: Apr 23

We have just returned from Venice after a productive week at La Biennale Arte, brimming with fresh ideas and excitement.

Highlights from our program included the insightful panel "Publishing as an Artistic Tool," featuring renowned artists such as Luis Lázaro MatosSimon StarlingLuca Trevisani, the publisher Winfred Heininger of Kodoji Press, and the moderator Alice Rigo Saitta. The dialogue provided an engaging exploration of the intersections between publishing and artistic expression.

Afterwards we held the talk titled "I Want to Make Another Book Right Away" with publisher and artist Jason Dodge and Céline Fribourg, founder of Édition Take 5, and the moderator Lorenzo Benedetti. This session captivated attendees with its deep dive into the creative and logistical aspects of contemporary bookmaking.

We were also thrilled to host the book launch for "Nil Yalter: Circular Tension," authored by Prof. Dr. Omar Kholeif and published by mousse. This publication examines the extraordinary life and work of Nil Yalter. The event was particularly special as it coincided with the celebration of Yalter receiving the prestigious Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.

We're thrilled to share the success of the "Archivorum Speed Date" event, a distinctive platform for artists and publishers to network. We thank the artists and publishers who participated in these meetings, encouraging future collaborations under the Archivorum×M initiative and facilitating the birth of visionary projects.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers and participants who made these events possible. Your insights and contributions were invaluable and greatly appreciated. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who joined us in Venice, dedicating their time and energy to share in these special moments.

Looking forward, we are excited about the future initiatives and collaborations that these discussions have inspired. We hope to continue fostering such dynamic exchanges and creating spaces where art and publishing meet and flourish. We look forward to welcoming you to our future events.
