We’re proud to announce Archivorum Unwritten, our new publication award to be launched at the 2026 edition of Artissima Fair. Joining the fair’s awards this year, it will be presented within its ‘Monologue/Dialogue’ section and will go to a living artist whose practice has strong editorial potential but hasn’t yet received the publication it deserves. At the heart of this new prize lies a central question: “What part of this artist’s practice has not yet been written, seen or passed on, and what could only become visible through a publication?”
Stemming from the idea that publishing can be an integral part of an artistic practice, rather than simply a way of documenting it, the editorial dimension is understood as an artistic medium in its own right, capable of giving form to research still in progress, to a personal archive, or to a project that has remained “unwritten”.
What the award includes:
→ funds for research, editorial development, design, production and launch
→ A year-long process with Archivorum and our network of editors, designers and researchers
→ Time at the Archivorum Library in Turin, our editorial laboratory
→ A public session developed with the artist
→ A launch of the finished publication at Artissima 2027
The artist will lead the concept and direction, while Archivorum will provide the editorial framework, coordination and production support. Once finished, the publication will join the library’s permanent collection as a public resource.
Thank you to Artissima for their trust, and to Artribune (Valentina Muzi), Exibart (Cristina Meli) and Il Giornale dell’Arte (Jenny Dogliani) for including Archivorum Unwritten in today’s coverage of the 33rd edition.
The prize will be launched on 30 October 2026 at 16:00, during Artissima Art Fair.
